Growing Home is a non-profit urban farm in Englewood — and the first and only USDA Certified Organic farm in Chicago! They believe that everyone deserves a good job, to eat well, and to live in a vibrant, supported community — and they use their farms to achieve this.
In 2006, Growing Home broke ground on its first site in Englewood to bring local produce, agriculture, and wraparound job training to the community. Since then, the farm has more than doubled in size and focuses and closing the gap in food security by growing over 35,000 lbs of fresh vegetables and distributing across Chicago with a primary focus on Englewood and food insecure communities. Our high production, regenerative practices are paired with our 12 week paid employment training program which serves individuals by teaching and practicing employment skills through urban agriculture on the farm, in the classroom, and even at the market.
