We’re thrilled that you’re joining us at the 2026 Chef BBQ, Green City Market’s signature fundraising event. The Chef BBQ’s goal is to highlight the bounty of Midwestern farms and showcase Chicago culinary talent who are committed to sourcing locally.

What chefs and restaurants are participating, and where will they be?

You can find the full list on our Talent page linked here on the website. The list will also be available on our interactive map, which is coming soon. 

Where do I enter?

VIP ticketholders can enter on Stockton, approximately 1850 S Stockton Dr) and GA ticketholders can enter from the center of the fence on the south end of the event. See map!

When does the event start?

VIP ticketholders can enter starting at 4PM and GA ticketholders can enter starting at 5PM.

Where is the info and medic tent?

You can find the location on our interactive map, which is coming soon and this will also be available to download as an app. 

Is the event rain or shine?

Yes. Chef BBQ will take place rain or shine.

What happens if it rains or there is an emergency?

Chef BBQ is a rain or shine event. We have an emergency action plan in place in accordance with the Parks District, DCASE, and city requirements. To sign up for Emergency Alerts, text GCMCHEFBBQ to 1-866-348-2930.

Do I need to bring my own silverware?

Green City Market will provide a tray and one pack of silverware. We ask that you please save your silverware for the entire evening so we can uphold Green City Market’s sustainability initiatives. 

What is included with my ticket?

Your ticket includes unlimited food tastings from participating chefs, beer, wine, cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, live-fire cooking experiences, and access to all event programming during your ticketed admission time. 

What is included with VIP admission?

VIP guests enjoy early entry, access to an exclusive VIP lounge, specialty beverage offerings not available in General Admission, dedicated VIP restrooms, premium hospitality experiences, and additional opportunities to connect with chefs, farmers, and producers.

Is this a 21+ event?

Guests under 21 are welcome when accompanied by a ticketed adult age 21 or older. Valid government-issued ID is required at check-in for alcohol service. No 21+ Band, No Service.

Can I bring my child?

Yes. Guests under 21 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult age 21 or older. All attendees ages 5 and older require a ticket. Children under 3 are admitted free when accompanied by a ticketed adult.

Are tickets refundable?

No. All ticket sales are final. Chef BBQ is a rain-or-shine event and tickets are non-refundable.

Can I transfer my ticket?

Ticket transfers may be made through Eventbrite up to 48 hours before the event.

Are dogs allowed?

In accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws, trained service animals assisting individuals with disabilities are welcome at Chef BBQ. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Is the event accessible?

Chef BBQ takes place outdoors in Lincoln Park & is on paved pathways, grass, and other natural surfaces. If you have questions about accessibility or would like to request accommodations, please contact us in advance of the event.

Is parking available?

Limited paid parking is available throughout the Lincoln Park area. We encourage guests to use public transportation, rideshare services, bike, or walk whenever possible.

Will there be vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options?

Many participating chefs offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-conscious options. Due to the nature of the event, Green City Market cannot guarantee that any item is free from allergens or cross-contact.

Can I take food home?

No. Health department regulations require that all food be consumed onsite.

Will trays be available?

Yes. Limited trays will be available to help guests enjoy food from multiple chefs throughout the event.

Can I bring a lawn chair or blanket?

Yes. Guests are welcome to bring a blanket or low-profile lawn chair to enjoy the event. All items must be kept within designated guest areas and may not obstruct walkways, vendor booths, food service areas, or guest access routes.

What can I bring to Chef BBQ?

Yes. Bags and backpacks up to 18" x 18" x 8" are permitted and may be subject to inspection upon entry. Outside food and beverages, coolers, glass containers, and oversized bags are not allowed.
