Bio
Cate is excited to be joining GCM’s part-time market staff and to connect with the vendors, farmers, and market frequenters. Having moved to Chicago recently from Tennessee, Cate is looking to build community here while helping to make nutritious, farm fresh foods accessible to all Chicagoans.
While Cate is a new resident here, she spent her upbringing visiting the city every year to visit family, and was always sad to have to leave. After graduating with a B.S. in Environmental Science and Agriculture in Tennessee and doing her time at several environmental nonprofits and organic farms, she was finally ready to move up to the midwest with her partner. She is currently interested in learning more about urban food networks and urban agriculture here.
When she’s not working outside, Cate enjoys taking the stage as an improviser, laughing with friends, scrapbooking, and tormenting her cat Momo. Come say hello to her at the West Loop market on Saturdays!
