Bio
Carey is a mission driven nonprofit leader with more than two decades of experience advancing equity centered work across Chicago. As Director of Development & Communications at Green City Market, she leads fundraising and strategic communications efforts that strengthen the organization’s impact and long term sustainability.
Throughout her career, Carey has strengthened organizational strategy, and mobilized resources that translate mission into measurable impact for children, families, and communities. At Green City Market, Carey brings a deep commitment to food access and nutrition equity. She believes that healthy, locally grown food is foundational to thriving communities and that farmers, families, and neighborhoods are strongest when systems are designed with equity at the center.
Raised with deep Midwestern roots and a love for the land, Carey feels most grounded outdoors. She enjoys tent camping, hiking, and spending time in nature with her family.
