Bio

Through her personal interpretations of nature, art, and food, Avgeria Stapaki has forged a style all her own. Born in Greece, Stapaki has spent time as a photographer, model, DJ, and even a professional basketball player, but she found her truest calling as a chef. Stapaki has cooked in acclaimed kitchens throughout Europe, with a focus on Mediterranean countries, Greece, Italy, and Spain, notably including Three Michelin-starred Restaurante Azurmendi in Bilbao, as well as Michelin-starred Hytra in Athens. She served as Executive Chef for the renowned restaurant Principote Mykonos, taking her refined technique and amplifying it in both flavor and volume, serving over 1,000 guests a day. Keeping her ties to Greece alive and well, Stapaki also remotely created the menu for Mia’s in Santorini.
Calling upon her wealth of talents, Stapaki oversees much more than the kitchen in her modern Mediterranean restaurant, Nisos. She worked side by side with the interior design team to design the look and feel of the restaurant, choosing textures, flooring, and art that spoke to her, as well as co-designed the restaurant’s serveware with a team of ceramicists. From  the music playlists heard in the dining room to the impeccable forest green State & Liberty suits for the front of house team, Stapaki has truly had a hand in every facet of the restaurant.
Devoted to her team and committed to learning and growth, Stapaki is a natural born leader and a commanding presence, who is not afraid to embrace a new way of thinking and blaze her own path. Cooking is in her DNA. Not only does she create colorful, bold dishes, but she evokes a sense of intimacy.
