Bio

Inspired by hand-crafted Old World techniques with seasonally-driven Midwestern sensibility, Lardon is an all-day neighborhood café and salumeria concept located just below Logan Square’s bustling California Blue Line stop, and was recently recognized in 2022 by MICHELIN with a Bib Gourmand. The 100-year-old space has been transformed into a sun-drenched neighborhood hub for industry vets, locals, and tourists alike. Exposed brick walls, reclaimed materials, and honeycombed tile floors set the backdrop for a rotating menu of expertly-crafted house cured charcuterie, artisanal cheeses, fresh salads and generously stacked sandwiches curated by rising Chef Chris Thompson, who has overseen top-rated restaurants in San Francisco, Denver, Telluride, andChicago. Known for its ambitious boutique wine and cocktail programs as well as artisan traditions like whole animal butchering and his in-house meat curing cave, Lardon frequently taps local chefs and farmers for collaborations, wine tastings and other events within its 1,000 square-foot space. Featuring 26 seats and 30 outside patio seats, Lardon is part of Logan Square’s thriving hospitality community. Located at 2200 N. California Ave., Lardon is open daily 8 a.m.—9 p.m. (Cafe hours 8 a.m.—11 a.m.; Lunch 11 a.m.—3:30 p.m.; Boards and Booze 3:30 p.m.—5 p.m.; Dinner 5 p.m.—10 p.m.).
