Bio
Ella is a proud Chicagoan and curious food systems worker. She graduated with a BA in Geography from McGill University. Ella started in agriculture at a warehouse in Montreal, growing leafy greens with hydroponics. She also has experience working on organic vegetable farms in Quebec and Nova Scotia. She has built maps using GIS to visualize gardens in Montreal & farming communities in the US Northeast.
Ella joined the Green City team in Spring 2025 as a Programs Assistant. Now, as Food Access Manager, she manages our SNAP-matching program, coordinates food recovery at markets, and facilitates educational workshops. She cares about connecting SNAP customers to farmers, building community power through markets. In her spare time, Ella likes to garden, bike, and draw.
