Our annual Thanksgiving turkey order guide is here! With the holiday season right around the corner, we've got you covered with securing your turkey order with our GCM vendors.
Green City Market is proud to be the first farmers' market in the country to require all of its farmers to be certified by a nationally recognized third-party agency. That means all of our meat and poultry vendors are certified by third-party agencies like the American Grassfed Association, Animal Welfare Approved, Certified Humane Raised & Handled, and more.
So if you're starting your search for the perfect whole roast turkey, look no further and check out our guide below on ordering a local, humanely-raised turkey this fall from our vendors.

How can orders be placed?

To reserve, a $50 deposit per bird is required (the deposit is subtracted from the total when you get your bird(s)). Prices include: Small (8-12 lbs) - $129 ; Medium (12.1-16 lbs) - $169 ; Large (16.1-20 lbs) - $189. You will receive a receipt for the final charge.
When do orders need to be placed by?
Place your order by Sunday, November 16.

Willowbrook Farms' pasture raised turkeys are the perfect centerpiece for your holiday feast. Their turkeys are raised on the farm, where they are free to roam and forage on lush pastures. They are never given antibiotics or GMO feed, ensuring that they are healthy and delicious.
Each turkey is between 8-20 lbs. Pricing and size options can be found online here.

Frozen turkeys can be picked up, free of charge at GCM Lincoln Park or GCM West Loop on Saturday, November 22.
Home deliveries on November 19th are available and cost $15 (spend $200 or more for free delivery!). For home deliveries, please have a cooler outside your house on delivery day. For neighborhood pick-up locations, visit their website here.

Pre-order and pick-up other Holiday items at Green City Market - Ordering deadline is Mondays at 11 pm for pick-up on Saturdays.
Home Shipping - Ordering deadline is Sundays at 11 pm. Orders are shipped on Tuesdays, arriving to you on Wednesdays.

Jake's Country Meats raises livestock to work with the land to promote a healthy ecosystem, thriving soil, and nutrient dense foods for us all.
During the holidays, they offer reservations for their pastured whole turkeys. You can reserve yours while at the farmers' market, or by visiting their website.
They also offer other holiday items that do not require a reservation - like turkey breasts, smoked hams, charcuterie meats, sausages, smoked fish and roasts.
Pick-up/delivery information
Jake's Country Meats will be at GCM Lincoln Park for the extended outdoor season every Saturday through November 22. Orders can be placed for pick-up anytime before then.
Whole turkeys specifically will be available for pick-up on Nov. 22 anytime between 8 am-1 pm.
Home shipping - this option is offered every week, with your box of meat leaving the farm on Tuesdays to arrive to you on Wednesday.
Mint Creek Farm
How can orders be placed?
Orders can be placed online here. To reserve, pay a $50 deposit per bird below. Your deposit is subtracted from the total when you pickup your bird(s). Mint Creek will send you a reminder with details about pickup or delivery a few days before it’s time!

Mint Creek Farm is offering heritage Black Spanish Aztec and Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys for pre-order this fall season! The birds are all pasture-raised at their organic farm located just southwest of Chicago in Cabery, Illinois.

BREEDS: Black Spanish Aztec: Heritage breed, balanced carcass, buttery flavor with ample dark meat. Slightly lighter in flavor than the bronze breed. (Very few US farmers raise the heritage Black Spanish Aztec turkey breed, so you’re helping these amazing turkeys continue by ordering one from us!)
Bronze Broad Breasted: Cross-breed, rich and flavorful with a slightly reddish meat & hearty leg quarters that provide exceptional dark meat.

Turkey preorders are open now until sold out. Order as soon as possible to secure the size and breed of you prefer online here.
Pick-up information
Frozen turkey pick-ups will be available for pick-up at GCM Lincoln Park on Saturday, November 22 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., but you can also request early pickup or home delivery of frozen birds starting in early November.
Fresh turkeys pick-ups are available Tuesday and Wednesday the week of Thanksgiving. Please see here for fresh turkey pickup locations.
