NewsGreen City Market extending outdoor season through November 21

Posted Sep 29, 2020

We officially have 8 more weeks of outdoor farmers markets! Green City Market — previously scheduled to end our outdoor season on Saturday, October 31 — will now be open for the first three Saturdays in November at both GCM Lincoln Park and GCM West Loop.

Due to Covid-19 capacity restrictions, Green City Market's Indoor Market will not be running in the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum this 2020-2021 winter season. Instead, GCM's outdoor farmers markets will remain open through Saturday, November 21, and we will continue to offer home delivery and curbside pick-up through GCM Delivered all fall and winter long.

“Connecting sustainable farmers with the Chicago community is at the heart of our nonprofit’s mission,” shared Executive Director, Melissa Flynn. “The market’s extension will allow Green City Market to continue to be the uplifting place where Chicagoans safely connect, face-to-face, with the farmers growing their nourishing food.”

Our safe shopper guidelines and our priority shopping hours will continue to be in effect for these additional market dates.

Mandy Moody, GCM Director of Development, notes, “We are energized by the season’s extension and are hard at work building partnerships to continue to meet the needs of all of our neighbors through the winter.”
