If you love blueberries — fresh or frozen — you know that southwest Michigan’s fruit belt is where the tastiest ones come from.
Since 2009, Chicago area natives Joe Corrado and his dad, Frank, have been growing sweet Michigan blueberries at their farm in Bangor, eight miles east of the resort town of South Haven. Joe is in charge of growing to organic standards and managing five other farms for Michigan’s only blueberry food hub. Frank’s job is bringing these delicious blue crops to the Chicago area CSA, summer and winter farmers markets like GCM, retailers, and institutional buyers in Michigan and Chicago.
Their premium berries are among the very few frozen Michigan berries available in store freezer cases.
