Opening Night Celebration at Bar Toma

Join Green City Market and chef/owner Tony Mantuano for on the opening day of his new concept, Bar Toma. This inclusive event will feature wine, beer, wood-fired pizza and other special treats from the Italian-inspired kitchen of Chef Mantuano. All proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit Green City Market's indoor market season.
"Bar Toma is an Italian neighborhood pizzeria and bar, inspired by Chef Tony and Cathy Mantuano’s favorite local bars discovered during their frequent visits over the years to Italy. The restaurant will feature pizza, around 20 varieties; a mozzarella bar; gelato, which will be made fresh on-site daily and available to-go, an espresso bar serving authentic Italian caffè; Roman-style fritti, which will be fried crisp in 100% Italian olive oil; pizza salads, which are salads on top of fresh baked crisps; Italian beers; around 60 wines with many available by the glass, including some on tap, and more. The pizza will be something never seen before in Chicago; it will be crispy, airy, and light with a crust that everyone wants to eat.
Guests of Bar Toma may also book “Pizza Parties” in communal areas exclusive for larger groups, where the pizza will be served by the meter and wine by the liter.
The name Bar Toma is a play on Chef Mantuano’s name (Tony Mantuano) while also referencing the Italian Toma cheese from Piemonte, one of chef’s favorites that will be also seen on the menu."
