Volunteering
Be a part of the best volunteer gig in Chicago!
Green City Market encourages all shoppers and supporters of the Market to become a Green City Market volunteer! Volunteers can participate and contribute their time in many ways, including acting as a "Market Resource" at our Market Information Tent on Wednesdays and Saturdays, assisting with special events, helping out during chef demos, working with our Sprouts children's program and behind-the-scenes work in the Market office.

Docent Volunteers
Docents facilitate conversations and lead guided tours for children’s groups and school field trips at the Green City Market.
Docents promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Green City Market mission and help ensure that visitors have a great experience. Market docents enjoy in-depth and hands-on training that prepare them for leading dynamic, fun tours and facilitating discussions. Docents will learn interactive teaching techniques for touring children. Docent training also includes an overview of the Market’s sustainability efforts and additional programming as well as critical information about our farmers and products.
