Learn the basics of hand-tied flower arrangements for your next special event using sustainable, local flowers from The Flower Garden.
About this Event
Make the most of summer florals at our DIY Summer Flower Arrangements class by local, sustainable farmer Louise Soucie from The Flower Garden! Louise will show you step-by-step how to make your own handheld flower bouquets utilizing seasonal florals from her MPS-ECAS sustainably certified farm. Bouquet arranging materials will be supplied by the class instructor, including the following seasonal flowers: snapdragons, asters, celosia, cosmos, dahlias, sunflowers, gladiolus, lilies and more. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves and shears, however they will be available to rent for free with a valid ID. In addition to creating your own bouquet, Louise will share her experience as a sustainable farmer and techniques that she uses to grow local flower varieties.
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Green City Market, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to pave a new path for the local food economy in the Midwest by deepening support for small family farmers, educating consumers and the next generation of eaters, and increasing access to local, healthy, sustainable food.
