VP Midwest, Vox Media
Joe was born and raised in the Northwest Suburbs. After graduating from Bradley University, he moved to Chicago where he has lived since 2006. Joe began his career working on media strategy and digital marketing campaigns for food & bev clients at Starcom Worldwide and MySpace (back when it was cool). Then in 2010, he joined Vox Media to start their Chicago office where he helped build the team and their 8 media brands including Eater, Curbed, Vox, The Verge, Recode, SB Nation, Polygon and Racked. He is currently the VP of Sales for the Midwest Region, where one of his favorite parts of the job is working on partnerships for Eater, their food and dining brand. In his free time, Joe enjoys traveling with his wife, cooking (with products from GCM and their container garden) and trying new restaurants throughout the city.
What inspired you to get involved with Green City Market?
My wife and me have been attending the market for years so wanted to find way to get more involved and help contribute to GCM’s mission and impact on Chicago communities.
What’s the most delicious thing you’ve ever purchased from the GCM?
Love fresh veggies but would have to go with tacos from Cookies & Carnitas or baked goods from Bennison’s Bakery.
What’s your favorite GCM event?
Looking forward to the Big Table Dinners!
