Monica has worked as a nutritionist in the healthcare field for 10+ years. After a decade of recommending low sodium diets, Monica decided to switch fields and focus on preventative nutrition. She now coordinates the food and nutrition program for students throughout the city of Chicago. Her goal is to assure every child has a healthy, aesthetically pleasing and delicious meal three times a day. Emphasis on organic, local and sustainable foods for her personal life and career brought her to join forces with the Green City Market. When Monica isn't thinking about or eating food she is staying active with her husband and puppy or traveling the world!
What inspired you to get involved with Green City Market?
The market is a huge asset to the city of Chicago and having the opportunity to help continue to support and spread its message is very important to me and our community.
