Donate towards Edible Education
Your favorite farmers market is coming to a school near you! Green City Market is excited to announce the launch of its Edible Education program in two Chicago schools: Manierre School and DePaul College Prep. GCM is providing weekly hands-on lessons in the kitchen and garden to 50 students in grades 6-12. Edible Education help kids connect school subjects to cooking and gardening. Our program is inspired by the Edible Schoolyard Project created by renowned Chef Alice Waters.
We're asking the GCM community to help stock our kitchen classrooms. Your gift will empower the next generation of local food leaders! Help ensure that each child has the necessary supplies to be an engaged program participant.
We especially need kitchen essentials like mixing bowls, wooden spoons, whisks, cups, and aprons – you can take a look at our full Wish List here.
There are two easy ways for you to contribute:
- Browse the needed supplies on our Wish List here. The list works like a registry so purchased items go directly to our office.
- You can also donate gently used items from home that fits our needs. Email Camille at firstname.lastname@example.org about the supplies you’d like to donate from home to coordinate a drop-off.
As a donor, you will be entered into a raffle to win two tickets to our fall fundraiser, A (Mostly) Veggie Affair, on November 9 and will be listed as a Founding Donor for our Edible Education programs in our 2018 Annual Report. To be featured in our Annual Report, please send a gift receipt along with your Amazon order.
